Jeremie Boudreau is a composer, improviser, performer, and private instructor based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A classically trained violinist turned classically trained guitarist, his area of research focuses on pan-genre creative expression through exploration of sound and performance, netting him such achievements including the Judith A. Grant Special Award, the Owen Matizen Prize in Composition, and twice the Ernest and Dorothy Heighton Prize in jazz and improvisation.
His writing has led him to compose for Symphony Nova Scotia, Upstream Orchestra, Adam Cicchillitti, The Rostova Quartet, and Théâtre Desassimilés. As a performer, he also leads his own jazz trio and performs with artists spanning classical to hip-hop, such as with Vladimir Sitnikov, HARMZ, and the Creative Music Workshop.
Having attended LAMP's reputable composition academy in Lunenburg, he has most recently had his orchestral work, "Malhastrophy", premiered by Symphony Nova Scotia at the 2025 Open Waters Festival and was given a full scholarship to take part in the Creative Music Workshop at the Halifax Jazz Festival in 2024. Jeremie research and artistic pursuits are supported through the generous help of the Nova Scotia Talent Trust.
